In an electrostatographic copying device of the type which utilizes a replaceable web having a particular sensitivity response which falls into one of a number of sensitivity response ranges, the particular sensitivity response range of each web being encoded thereon or on a cartridge in which the web is disposed, compensation apparatus adapted to alter any one of a number of operations performed with respect to a utilized web, in a manner which insures comparable copies when webs of differing sensitivity are employed from time to time.
