摘要 1347211 Control of D.C. motors MATRAL SA 8 Feb 1972 [9 Feb 1971] 5852/72 Heading H2J A D.C. series motor 1 for an electricallydriven vehicle is started by closure of switches 7, 8 or 9, 10 to connect it to either battery 5 or 6, a further switching arrangement being provided so that the selection of one battery for the starting operation ensures the automatic selection of the other battery for the next starting operation, the discharge of the batteries thus being equalized. In a typical starting operation, depression of a start button or accelerator pedal 20 actuates the moving contact 18 1 of a switch 18 through a cam surface 20 1 and the co-operating end 19 1 of a rod 19. Closure of contacts 18 1 , 18 2 energizes a motor 17 through the contacts 11 1 , 11 2 of a switch 11, the contact 11 1 being linked to a rod 12 actuated by a cam 13 which is mounted with another cam 14 on a shaft driven by the motor 17. The motor 17 drives the cams 13, 14 through a quarter of a turn, the cam movements respectively changing over the contact 11 1 to de-energize the motor 17 and closing contacts 15 to close switches 7, 8 through a relay action and so use battery 5 for starting. Return of the button 20 to its initial position or further depression of the pedal 20 causes the moving contact 18 1 to reengage contact 18 3 and so energize the motor 17 through contacts 11 1 , 11 3 , the cams 13, 14 then being driven for another quarter of a turn to re-engage contacts 11 1 , 11 2 and so de-energize the motor 17 and to allow contacts 15 to open. The cam 14 is now positioned so that, during the next starting operation of the member 20, the contacts 16 will be closed to close the switches 9, 10 and so use the battery 6 for starting. The motor 1 has a field winding formed by two parts 2, 3, and is run up to speed in four stages as follows: (1) Switches 7, 8 or 9, 10 closed to feed motor from battery 5 or 6. (2) Switch 4 is additionally closed to obtain a half-field condition. (3) Only switches 7, 10 are closed to feed the motor from batteries 5, 6 connected in series. (4) Switch 4 is additionally closed to obtain a half-field condition. More than two batteries may be provided, in which case the cam 14 will act successively on a number of contacts to successively employ the batteries for starting. If the member 20 is the accelerator pedal, it may have additional cam surfaces for controlling the switches 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
