The invention relates to fireproof glazing comprising at least one intumescent layer of hydrated alkaline silicate having a thickness of no less than 2.5 mm and containing water and optionally compounds partially substituting the water, namely either glycerin or ethylene glycol, said compounds and water combined representing between 25 and 45 wt.% of the layer, with a molar ratio SiO/MO of between 2.5 and 6. The viscosity of the intumescent layer prevents the layer from creeping over time. |
