PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat cable connector which has a simple structure and facilitates assembling.SOLUTION: A flat cable connector 1 provided at an end portion of an FFC 50, has a plug side shell member for pressing a right-and-left intermediate portion of the FFC 50 upward. The FFC 50 is equipped with locking portions 57 extending to right-and-left outside on a rear side of a part forming a cable contact portion, on right and left both sides. A plug side connector housing 10 has pressing portions 15 for pressing right-and-left locking portions 57 of the FFC 50 downward. In the halfway of inserting the end portion of the FFC 50 in an insertion space 14, the plug side shell member pushes the right-and-left intermediate portion of the FFC 50 upward, and the pressing portions 15 pushes the right-and-left locking portions 57 downward to elastically deform the right-and-left locking portions 57. When insertion is completed, the right-and-left locking portions 57 pass through the pressing portions 15 and the elastic deformation is recovered and upwardly moved to oppose to the pressing portions 15 in a fore-and-aft direction, and the end portion of the FFC 50 is locked and held while being inserted in the plug side connector housing 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13 |
