A recorder for journey details of motor vehicles, having a cylindrical housing with a hinged cover, containing two or more circular charts arranged on a common driving shaft spaced above each other, with one or more recording pens arranged between the charts. The pens between the charts (8) are carried on a support (10) so attached to the hinged lid of the instrument housing that it can be swung in a plane perpendicular to the recording plane, to facilitate changing of the charts whilst permitting recordings to be made on both faces of the top chart.
