The system (SC) has a thermal engine (M) for driving wheels of a hybrid vehicle based on motorization modes, and an acquisition unit (AC) for acquisition of couple instruction. A processing unit (TR) processes the instruction to work out filtered couple instruction (CT) defined by thresholds of a couple input and a couple output. A piloting unit (PI) delivers the filtered instruction to the engine, where the processing unit has a parameterizing unit that parameterizes the filtered instruction for configuring couple gradient according to a motorization mode instruction (D1). An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a monitoring system.
