1430150 Filter press U PASSAVANT AG MICHELBACHER HUTTE [trading as PASSAVANT-WERKE MICHELBACHER HUTTE] 23 May 1973 [2 June 1972] 24598/73 Heading B1D In a filter press comprising plates 1, 1', 1" connected by connecting means such as pivotally connected rods 7, 8, 7', 8' or cable or chains (not shown), the plates are associated with cams 10, 10' which during the opening of the press are moved, as a result of a change in position or shape of the connecting means, into a position in which they are contacted by a moving member such as reciprocating member 11 or rotating member (not shown). In the opening of the press headpiece 13 is hydraulically moved to the left pulling with it a first group of plates. The cams of the separated plates are in a vertical position. The cam 10' is then pushed by member 11 closing the first group of plates and separating a second group of plates. When the first group is closed the member 11 is automatically returned to its starting position. The process is repeated until all the plates have been separated, after which headpiece 13 is actuated to move all plates to their original closed position. When the plates are in an open position filter cake ejecting means and spray means may be introduced therebetween. The apparatus may comprise a plurality of entrainment members. |
