1505637 Catalytic hydrodealkylation INSTITUT FRANCAIS DU PETROLE 26 Feb 1975 [9 Sept 1974] 43008/77 Divided out of 1505112 Heading C5E [Also in Division Bl] A process for the catalytic hydrodealkylation of an alkylaromatic hydrocarbon comprises contacting the hydrocarbon, substantially sulphur-free, at a temperature in the range 400‹-650‹ C. in the presence of hydrogen, under a pressure in the range 1-40 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>, at a spatial velocity in the range 1-10 and a ratio of the hydrogen to the hydrocarbon, expressed as moles per mole at the outlet of the reactor, in the range 1 to 10 and in the presence of a catalyst comprising: (a) a carrier (e.g. alumina); (b) at least one element selected from chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, rhenium, and manganese, at a concentration in the range 0À05-20% by weight of the catalyst; (c) at least one additional element, different from component (b), selected from chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, rhenium, manganese, copper, silver, gold, zinc, cadmium, gallium, indium, thallium, germanium, tin and lead, at a concentration in the range 0À05 -20% by weight of the catalyst; the catalyst being alkali-metal-free. |
