摘要 1411116 Cooling reactors GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 22 Nov 1972 [26 Nov 1971] 53881/72 Heading G6C In a nuclear reactor core in which fuel assemblies are supported to define cells each including number of assemblies spaced to define coolant by-pass channels, the exit area at the top of such a by-pass channel is restricted by one or more flow control members so as to reduce the coolant pressure differential between the main and by-pass channels. In one embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) coolant flow channels (46(1)) have, at their upper ends, laterally-extending flanges which close off portions of the otherwise unrestricted by-pass channel (S) to reduce its exit area. In other embodiments (Figs. 5, 6, not shown) similar flanges are bent downwardly into the by-pass channel and provide means to assist the maintenance of the spacing between the flowchannels. In further embodiments (Figs. 7, 8, not shown) two sides of a flow-channel (46) are provided with a member (61 or 61<SP>1</SP>) which backs up a spring flap (66 or 66<SP>1</SP>) which has a portion (67 or 67<SP>1</SP>) which can engage the member (61 or 611) of an adjacent flow-channel. In other embodiments (Figs. 9-11, not shown) the exit aperture of the by-pass channel is restricted by provision of a cruciform member (76 or 87) which can be a snap fit in the channel or can be bolted to the plates of an upper grid defining the cells. The cells are arranged each to contain four flow-channels supported at their bases atop control rod guide-tubes (24) (Fig. 1, not shown). The reactor may be a water-cooled variety.
