<p>Producing profiles of thermoplastic materials comprises continuously heating, mechnically forming and rechilling a simple prefabricated profile such as flat strip. Avoids need for mfr. of complex and precise extrusion dies to obtain folded profiles. Various different shapes can be produced from one stock profile. The basic profile is heated by hot air, pref. in two or more stages. The shaping tools are adjustable or interchangeable to produce different shapes. Cooling is effected in two or more stages.</p> |
