1335518 Wall-mounted pipe socket DRAGERWERK AG 31 Aug 1972 [2 Sept 1971] 40501/72 Heading F2G A wall-mounted pipe socket comprises a housing for setting into a wall 21 of a building which includes a cylindrical receptacle 1 and a tapered hollow projection 3 to admit a pipe 10. Within the receptacle 1 are a connector member 11 for connection to the pipe 10 which is sealed by an annular seal 16 to the back 18 of a coupling part 17 and mounting means 6, 7, 25 which permit the position of the coupling part 17 and connector member 11 to be varied along the axis, e.g. to accommodate different thicknesses of plaster (22) (Fig. 2, not shown) on the wall 21. As shown, the mounting means comprises three threaded pins 6 which may be moulded into a back wall 5 of the receptacle 1. The pins 6 and nuts 7 pass through elongate slots (14) (Fig. 3, not shown) in a flange 13 on the member 11 to which the pipe 10 may be soldered to allow the pipe 10 to straighten during axial adjustment of the coupling part. Such adjustment is effected by positioning the nuts 7 on the pins 6 and retightening the nuts 25 which clamp the coupling part flange 18 against the connector flange 13 and seal 16. A ramp surface 24 deflects the coupling part and member 11 towards the pipe 10 when the socket is in its fully retracted position. |
