Devices consisting of at least one reciprocating member moving without seals in a liquid in a chamber or channel, bringing or keeping the liquid in regular motion as the result of the movement in one direction conveying more motive power to the liquid than in the opposite direction. Such devices are used to advantage in liquid hot metal melts or other liquids or masses which are hard to move and for which conventional pumps are inadequate.
