<p>1474967 Pipe bends J F SCHNEIDER 18 Dec 1974 [24 Dec 1973] 54696/74 Heading F2G A pipe bend or elbow is formed by servering a straight pipe section 2 transversely at at least one position by planar cuts disposed such that their intersection with the perpendicular axial plane of the pipe 2 forms a symmetrical Y-shape whose stem is both perpendicular to the axis of the pipe and is of the same length as the arms of the Y, removing the wedge shaped portions 4 of the pipe formed thereby, moving the remaining portions 3 of the pipe such that the adjacent edges 5, 6, from which the wedge 4 has been cut, abut each other, then inserting the wedge portion 4 into the gaps thus produced in the outer half of the bend between adjacent portions 3 and securing all abutting cut edges in this state.</p> |
