an alternator; a battery connected in series to the alternator; at least one electrical load element connected in parallel to the battery; a plurality of sensors connected to the battery; an engine electronic control unit (EECU) having as inputs at least a signal from each of the plurality of sensors and providing a continuous analog voltage control signal to the alternator wherein the alternator comprises a voltage regulator for adjusting the output voltage of the alternator based on the continuous analog voltage control signal received from the EECU. |
