<p>A band filter press, intended for continuous sepn. of liqs. from slurries, sludges, etc., comprises >=1 rotatably mounted drums, around the external periphery of which revolving pressing rolls are mounted. A number of these pressing rolls are mounted alongside one another in a single pressing frame and an endless filter belt is conducted around the rolls. The filler bands and material to be filtered pass between this belt and the drum. Pref. the frame itself is biased by a spring towards the centre of the drum and in addition each individual roll is biassed by a separate spring mounted in the frame and also directed towards the centre of the drum. A tensioning roll may be used to apply a tension into the endless belt. Used typically for squeezing liq. from already concn. sludge. The arrangement enables a virtually uniform pressing force to be applied around the periphery of the drum, thus considerably improving the efficiency of sepn.</p> |
