At the lower end, facing the spring contact set, the push-button switch has bevelled surfaces running longitudinally between which are longitudinal grooves. The adjacent bevelled surface are so shaped as to have alternating continuous configuration and an interrupted one. The latter being formed by a recess. The bevelled surfaces and longitudinal grooves converge at the spring contact set facing end and form a tip. Preferably one groove has a greater depth, engaging a rear retention when the push-button has been depressed. At the lower end may be mounted a latching cam acting against the push-button depression. The push-button is typically in two parts. The upper one serving as an operating member, and the lower one as the spring contact set actuator.
