The modular mounting device (2) which finds partic. application in telephone sets, is suitable for mounting pushbutton switches or indicator devices such as LEDs. Each device has an aperture (6) in which the component is mounted. For a switch, the shaft (8) of a pushbutton (7) passes through the hole which serves as a guide. The shaft has a longitudinal groove (9) which prevents rotation by engaging a projection (37) in the side of the hole. A sprung shoulder (10) engages a complementary edge (11) of the mounting device. The angled end of a contact spring (12) is pushed on to a printed circuit board and makes contact by a rivet.
