<p>PURPOSE:To improve the dust-collecting efficiency of an air-cleaning apparatus by forming discharge fields between discharge wires and cylindrical earthing electrodes, causing to flow an air current so as to cross the direction of discharge, and thus charging uniformly dust in the air current. CONSTITUTION:Cylindrical earthing electrodes 6 comprise thin steel wires, etc., and being arranged at fixed intervals. Discharge wires 1 are arranged between the earthing electrodes 6 and a filter 4 in parallel to the earthing electrodes 6 and over a tentative electric wire (L) equally dividing (l1) a distance (l) between adjacent earthing electrodes. If a high-voltage DC current is applied to the discharge wires 1, unequal fields are formed between the earthing electrodes 6, and corona discharge starting. If a dust-containing air current is caused to flow so as to cross the direction of discharge, dust is uniformly charged, and thus the efficiency of dust collection is improved.</p> |
