<p>Paper machines, particularly machines for making light grades of paper, such as tissue, are provided with an extended web transfer zone wherein the area of pressure differential acting upon the web in order to provide transfer of the web is significantly greater than heretofor, thereby permitting satisfactory transfer of the web at lower differentials of pressure, so as to minimized web damage due to entrapment of the fibres thereof by the wire surface.</p> |
