In torpedoes stored outside the pressure hull of a submarine, risk is present for inwards leaking of surrounding water into the torpedo, which may lead to damages on the propulsion machinery of the torpedo, and other equipment in the torpedo. In order to prevent such inwards leaking, a device is arranged outside the pressure hull 4 of the submarine, consisting of both at least one tube 6 of a rigid material and having at least two mainly radially inwards protruding, rigid flanges 7, which delimit respective openings for receiving the torpedo 1 in the tube 6 in a position in which a zone 2 of the torpedo, where there is risk of inwards leaking, is situated between the flanges 7, and a water-tight cloth 8 of an elastic material, fixed between the flanges 7 and around the openings in a pressure-tight manner for the formation of a generally annular, closed interspace 9 between the tube 6 and the cloth 8, and also a pressure regulator 12 in correspondence with said closed interspace 9 for providing such a pressure in said closed interspace 9 in dependence of the pressure in the water surrounding the torpedo 1, that the cloth is kept pressed tightly against the surface of the torpedo 1 between said flanges 7. <IMAGE> |
