PURPOSE:To simplify pattern inputting operations by providing circuits which select the plural unit patterns displayed in a display device and instructing the display positions, directions and sizes thereof. PURPOSE:When an inputting pattern is assumed to be, for example, a digital circuit, a unit pattern consists of various gates and segments. Now, if it is assumed that the operator adds an NOR gate to the pattern, the instructs the points A, B, C successively with a write pen 5. A position inputting circuit 6 detects the positions of the points A, B, C, generates their position signals and stores them in a position memory circuit 7. The position signal at the point A in the circuit 7 corresponds to an NOR gate, and is sent to a pattern generating circuit 2, by which the generation of the pattern of the NOR gate is prepared. The position signals at the point B and the point C indicate the positions of the input side and output side, respectively, of the selected gate. The position signals are supplied to a comparator 8, and when the results of the comparison are supplied to a size and direction determining circuit 4, the circuit 4 outputs the signals indicating the size and direction of the selcted unit pattern to the circuit 2 which in turn displays the pattern at the instructed size and direction in a display part 1. |
