The low nitrous oxides emission combustion process is for gaseous or liquid fuels, in industrial usage. It is based on the principle that slowing down the air-fuel mixture rate reduces the amount of nitrous oxides formed. This is achieved by limiting the arc of air admission, with coaxial burners and air casings, to 240 deg. or less, centred on the axis, by blocking part of the flow annulus. The fuel discharge orifice axis is pref. also angled 5-45 deg. to the burner axis, towards the centre of area of the blocked portion. The fuel-air flow ratio may be preset to a value exceeding 0.3. The burner liq. position may be selected for optimum geometrical parameters, depending on the burner type.
|
