PURPOSE:To contrive an increase in air amount and a subdividing of bubbles through the use of a swirl and enhance the aerating efficiency by a method wherein a nozzle is fitted to a discharge port of a vortex pump and a diffuser is provided immediately downsteam of an air chamber which is in proximity to the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The hozzle 14 for ejecting a liquid fed from an underwater motor pump 1 and the diffuser 16 are provided on a straight line on the opposite sides of the air chamber 15. The liquid ejected from the discharge port 12 is jetted into the air chamber 15 through the nozzle 14, at which it is given a twist so that it comes into contact with the inside wall 16' of the diffuser 16 while swirling. As a result, the contacting area of the liquid and air is enlarged, and since the liquid swirls even in a straight pipe part, the amount of air sucked in is increased and the course of subdividing the air bubbles is extended. Accordingly, a large amount of subdivided air bubbles favorable for cleaning sewage can be obtained. |
