PURPOSE:To prevent the overall rod from being incapacitated in case of an incidental damage to the end of the laser rod by a method wherein the divided constitution is adopted in the rod end. CONSTITUTION:An optical element 2 made of the material similar to the rod material or the refractive index at the applicable wave length of the two materials are approximate with each other is adhered to one or both sides of the laser rod 1 through the intermediary of the optical contact surface 3. When the rod end 4 happens to be damaged, said surface 3 is peeled off by means of quenching or rapid heating the rod 1 or one of the elements 2 to adhere the substrate of the elements 2 preliminarily prepared again through the intermediary of said surface 3. |
