PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance and corrosion resistance by providing a protective film, formed by curing ultraviolet-ray setting resin, on a metallic thin-film magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording medium 30 formed by providing a ferromagnetic metallic thin film over a polyester base, etc., is conveyed to a teke- up part 22 by an unwinding part and at a coating part 14, the magnetic metallic thin film on the magnetic recording medium is coated with an ultraviolet-ray setting resin 25 prepared by adding acrylic resin on the basis of epoxy resin through coating rollers 26 and 27. At a hot-blast drying part 16, a solvent is removed and the surface is irradiated with ultraviolet rays from an ultraviolet- ray irradiating device 20, thus curing the ultraviolet-ray setting resin. |
