The contaminated and exhausted title cracking catalyst was treated with 0.5 - 200ppm non-noble metal, noble metal or rare earth oxide Co-conversion promoters. The treated catalyst was partially regenerated in a fluidized bed converter with O-contg.regenerator gas and the partially- regenerated catalyst and partially exhausted gas were further processed in a transport riser in dild. phase where further combustion of the coke and conversion of Co to CO2 occurs. The catalyst was sepd. from the regenerating gas and returned as a solid bed to the hydrocarbon conversion process.
