PURPOSE:To make the best possible use of the heat retained in slabs which do not require blooming in a blooming line used alternately and commonly for continuous casting slabs and ingot materials by retreating the succeeding ingot when the slab arrives at the inlet side of a blooming mill. CONSTITUTION:In a producing line for steel plates wherein a continuous casting plant A, a blooming plant B and a hot rolling plant C are coupled directly, the continuous casting slab (a) from the plant A and the ingot material (b) from a holding furnace 1 are both bloomed with the blooming mill 2. The slab (a) is fed through a hot scarfer 3 and a hot shear 4 to the plant C, and the bloomed slab of the material (b) is fed temporarily to a cooling hearth 7. A slab lifter 8 is provided between the mill 2 and the scarfer 3. When the slab (a) which does not require blooming is fed into the line during the blooming work of the material (b) under working, the material (b) under the work is retreated to above the line by the lifter 8, and the slab (a) is passed preferentially so as to be fed to the plant C. The lifter 8 is brought down thereafter to return the material (b) again in the blooming stage and the work is completed.
|
