PURPOSE:To better plasticity of a mask and improve mechanical strength while dispersing tensile load due to draw processing when molding the mask on bridge parts and groove-like parts by forming the groove-like parts on bank parts on the screen side of the shadow mask or crossing the bank parts. CONSTITUTION:Groove-like parts 13 are scattered or arranged in rows on the screen side of bank parts 12 while said groove-like parts 13 are formed so as to be lying on said bank parts or crossing the bank parts 12 to unite rows of said strip-like hole parts partitioned by the bank parts each other. In a shadow mask 11 of such constitution, the tensile load due to draw processing when molding the mask, which has been hitherto concentrated on bridge parts 4, is dispersed on the bridge parts 4 and the groove-like parts 13 by said groove-like parts thus to reduce a difference between the tensile loads in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction, while simplifying processing of mask molding and reducing the elongation of the stripe-like hole parts 3 when molding and further eliminating any bridge break even in the case of small width of the bridge. |
