The subject of the invention relates to the technical field of furnishings. This unit comprises a number of polygonal-sectioned assembly members 1 with, at its external corners, longitudinal multi-directional moulded channels for the sliding engagement of the complementary moulding E which is formed by the edges of the transverse sides of each connecting frame 2 in order to obtain unitary boxes or adjacent boxes assembled by their corners; means for equipping 3 and reinforcing each connecting frame; and means for assembling and coupling, in superimposed positions, the members and frames.
