The stretching mechanism grips the opening of a filled sack so as to form two straight sides against each other before transfer into a mechanism for stitching, gluing or welding the sides together. The mechanism comprises a frame (3) adjustable to suit different sizes of sack and movable in the vertical direction by a ram (20). - A stretching tool, movable horizontally, is mounted on the frame. The tool has two arms (15) moved apart by a further ram (24) and travelling with the sack into the sealing mechanism, after which they return to the starting position. (Dwg No. 1) |
