PURPOSE:To obtain an image high in each of density and resolution and quality and sharp in halftone by forming a photoconductive material made of amorphous Si as a base and contg. H or halogen divided into three regions in the layer thickness direction from the side of a substrate, each region contg. a specified element. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer 102 made of amorphous Si(H, X), X standing for halogen, is formed on a conductive substrate 101. At that time, a first formed region 103 contains an element of group III of the periodic table, such as B, in a concn. distribution uniform in the direction in parallel to the face of the substrate 101, and decreasing in the thickness direction from the substrate side. The second formed region 104 which is formed on the region 103 contains no element of group III, and on the region 104 the third region 105 is formed contg. an element of group III, such as B, uniformly in all this region, and further contains N in a concn. distribution of N increasing in the thickness direction from the substrate side. As a result, the obtained photosensitive body is especially high in density of a formed image, and causes no image flow even in the case of high exposure. |
