<p>The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0906235/IV (b)/1> (wherein R1 is alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl or phenyl or benzyl possibly substituted by halogen or alkyl or alkoxy of at most 6 carbon atoms, R2 is hydrogen or alkyl or alkenyl of at most 6 carbon atoms, R3 is allyl or prop-1-enyl and R4 is alkyl of 2 to 6 carbon atoms, or R1 and R2 can be bound together directly or via an oxygen atom in an alkylene or oxa-alkylene chain), but excluding 2-ethoxy-4-allylphenoxyacetic acid diethylamide; and the preparation of these compounds by reacting an appropriately substituted phenoxyacetic acid or a reactive functional derivative thereof with the appropriate primary or secondary amine or by reacting a salt, e.g. an alkali metal salt, of the acid in the warm with a carbaminyl chloride of the formula <FORM:0906235/IV (b)/2> (wherein R21 is alkyl or alkenyl), or by reacting an N-substituted haloacetamide with an appropriately substituted phenol or salt thereof in presence of an acid-binding agent.
