PURPOSE:To install a linear conductor accurately on a negative plate by installing at least one linear conductor on the surface of a belt-like electrode plate made of an alkali metal and used to make a spiral electrode group, then rolling the thus obtained body into a hoop-like shape before it is cut into a given dimension. CONSTITUTION:At least one linear conductor 12 is pressed and fixed to a belt- like negative plate 11 made of an alkali metal along its longitudinal direction. Here, after the conductor 12 is located almost in the center of the negative plate 11 in its width direction and pressed and fixed to the surface of the negative plate 13 by means of a roller or the like, the thus obtained body is rolled into a hoop-like shape. The hoop-like negative plate 11 is cut into a given length to make rectangular negative plates 11'. Next, a metallic terminal 13 is connected to each negative plate 11'. After separators 22 and 22' are placed between the negative plate 11' and a positive plate 21 made by fixing a positive mixture to both surfaces of a current collector, this is rolled to make a spiral electrode group. After the spiral electrode group is packed into a battery case 23, nonaqueous electrolyte is poured into the case 23 before it is sealed. |
