PURPOSE:To reduce a rate of fuel consumption in a braking drive range and eliminate a sudden change point of engine braking force as well as to reduce a torque shock in time of locking up, by setting a lockup in motion when engine output torque exists on a zero line. CONSTITUTION:Signals out of a turbine speed sensor f detecting the number of revoluion in an output shaft of a torque converter b and an engine load sensor g detecting the size of load on an engine (a) are compared with a first lockup control line h1 at a lockup discrimination device i. Simultaneously with this, they are also compared with a second lockup control line h2 being preset on the basis of the turbine revolution and engine load in a state of being regardable as zero in the engine output. And, the lockup discrimination device i outputs an on-off signal of the lockup on whether to operate a lockup device d or not to a control device j. |
