THRUST RECOVERY APPARATUS FOR SHIP PROPULSION MACHINE

PURPOSE:To improve the propulsion efficiency effectively utilizing a reaction fin under all possible navigating conditions by varying the set angle of the reaction fin for the direction of propulsion. CONSTITUTION:When the speed condition of a ship changes, the set angle of a mobile fin 24 is adjusted with respect to the direction of propulsion by turning an operation rod 28 with a push-pull wire to set the elevation angle of the mobile fin 24 at the optimum position with respect to the rear flow of a screw 16. A thrust recovery apparatus 17 recovers the energy of the rear flow of the screw 16 at a high efficiency according to said setting. This enables the effective utilization of the mobile fin 24 under all possible conditions of the ship thereby improving the propulsion efficiency of an outboard motor, ultimately the fuel consumption thereof.
