COMPOSITE ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY

PURPOSE:To selectively form a chromatic image through only one time image exposure by laminating 2 kinds of photoconductive layers contg. specified azo compds. and different from each other in spectral sensitivity either directly on a conductive substrate or by interposing an interlayer on it. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body 18 comprises the second photoconductive layer 14 sensitive to red light, and the first photoconductive layer 12 sensitive to light past the layer 14 or further an interlayer. This body 18 is subjected to primary positive or negative corona charging having the polarity same as that to which the layer 14 is sensitive. Then, a secondary chargeing reverse in polarity to the primary charging is applied, and the body 18 is exposed to the light image of an original 20 to form an electrostatic latent image having different polarity from each other corresponding to the black and red parts of the original on each photoconductive layer of the body 18.
