For guiding the lifting columns (12) in the foot columns (10) of a height-adjustable frame, in particular for a table, without play, sliding bodies (14) are provided which preferably consist of plastic. The sliding bodies (14) are seated in the profiled wall of the lifting column (12) and are supported by their inner end on a pressure part (20, 24). By means of screws (22) screwed into threaded bores of the pressure part (20, 24), the sliding bodies (14) are adjusted such that they rest without play against the inner wall of the foot column (10). <IMAGE>
