<p>PURPOSE:To improve durability and safety of catalyst and reduce a volume of generated NOx by a method wherein fuel is further added to effluent from a part charged with catalyst and a concentration of fuel is improved. CONSTITUTION:Honeycomb catalyst of precious metal system 10 is charged in a combustion cylinder 9, each of fuel 11 and air 13 is fed into the combustion cylinder 9 from each of the systems and then mixed, and the mixture is flowed into the catalyst 10. When fuel 12 is added to the effluent flowed out of the catalyst 10, resulting in that a thermal combustion temperature of the effluent can be controlled to have a value lower than that NOx is generated, so a volume of generated NOx can be reduced.</p> |
