PURPOSE:To suppress the lessing of the service life due to heating of an LED array chip without increasing the burden on the software by specifying the print area of printing print data with thinning out by an higher-rank unit to perform a thinning out printing in the printing area in compliance with a fixed rule. CONSTITUTION:A start position data and a stop position data for the thinning out printing area A transferred from a higher-rank unit are set on a register 4 and a register 5 separately to perform a counting with counting circuits 6 and 7. As a printing proceeds up to a specified position set on the register 4, the output of an exclusive logic NOT circuit 8 goes to the logic '0' indicating the area as A. A thinning out signal generating section 11 generates a thinning out signal upon the triggering of a DATA TOP PLS and according to the thinning out signal, with an OR circuit 9 and an AND circuit 10, a serial data to be printed is thinned out at an interval of 1bit and further, so as to deviate the thinning out data position by 1 bit in dot lines before and after the data being printed. Then, after a printing proceeds to a specified positin set on the register 5, there is no need for thinning out the serial data. |
