The device comprises a male connector 2, connected to the line and a female connector 1, securely fastened to the anchoring point, the female connector comprising a hollow body 3 whose internal bore 4 comprises a circular internal shoulder 6. The male connector comprises a cylindrical knob 7 provided with an annular series of tipping catches 9, a sliding ring 13 being arranged around the knob above the catches and allowing, in the bottom position, the catches to be held in the retracted position, allowing the passage of the male connector in line with the shoulder of the hollow body, the ring comprising a bearing surface 15 against the upper end 5 of the hollow body causing the ring to move upwards again and free the catches. A sliding lower skirt 23 surrounds the knob beneath the catches, means allowing it, after release of the tension of the line, to slide upwards, causing the retraction of the catches, which means comprise a step 25 interacting with a shoulder 24 of the skirt holding the latter in the up position, with the catches retracted.
