PURPOSE:To reliably shift even a buckling succeeding web on a guide plate by fixing a plate spring raising the tip of a cut succeeding web on the rear periphery of a cutting edge of a lower cutting drum in a joint device of a lengthy belt-like material such as paper. CONSTITUTION:When a preceding web A and a succeeding web B are cut off by cutting edges 4A, 4B via the rotation of cutting drums 2A, 2B, the cut end (b) of the succeeding web B is raised above a guide plate 5 by the restoring force of a plate spring 7 cantilever-fixed on the rear periphery of the cutting edge 4B and is reliably shifted on the guide plate 5. In addition, the tip of the guide plate 5 is approached to the periphery of the cutting drum 2B to the utmost, staggered comb teeth-like slots are formed at the position corresponding to the tip 7b of the plate spring 7, thus the cut end (b) of the succeeding web B is shifted on the guide plate 5 more reliably. Accordingly, a mis-joint never occurs even for a buckling web. |
