PURPOSE:To secure the airtightness of a metal gasket in the optimum condition by forming the gasket from a plurality of thin metal sheets and changing the material of the sheets with holes having projections formed therearound. CONSTITUTION:A metal gasket 11 is formed from three thin metal sheets 12-14. A first circular opening 15 is formed in a first thin metal sheet 12 to constitute a bore 2. There are formed a circular projection 16 around the first circular opening 15 and a second circular opening 17 with a larger diameter than a through hole 4. Further, a third circular opening 18 with a larger diameter than the circular projection 16 and a fourth circular opening 19 for constituting another through hole 14 are formed in a second thin metal sheet 13. A circular projection 20 is formed around the fourth opening 19. These two sheets 12 and 13 overlap each other and bundled by a third thin metal sheet 14. The material of the sheets 12 and 13 and the height of the projections 16 and 20 can be changed in accordance with the airtightness of the openings and holes required. |
