PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized and low-priced tape-like body drive controller by pivotting rotatably a detecting roller with the aid of a pivot bearing. CONSTITUTION:A axis 24 made of stainless steel is inserted integratedly into the detecting roller 17, and both ends 24a and 24b of the axis 24 are processed conically and its both tips are processed to be spherical surfaces with small radiuses. On a head base stand 21 a spherical recessed part 21a having a larger radium than that of the spherical tip of the axis 24 and a screw part 22b are formed. A bearing member 25 having a spherical recessed part 25a with the same radium as said recessed part is engaged with the screw part 22b. Because of the adoption of the pivot bearing a friction loss can be reduced, and the device can be reduced in size and cost, because it is constituted of a small occupied space and simple parts.
