A description is given of a clutch disc for a motor-vehicle clutch for the frictional connection of a flywheel rotating with the crankshaft of the engine to the input shaft of a gearbox on the output side. The clutch disc is mounted on the input shaft between the flywheel and a pressure plate which rotates with the flywheel, being mounted on the input shaft in a manner which prevents relative rotation but allows axial displacement. At its outer rim, it carries friction linings which rest against mating friction faces of the flywheel or pressure plate when the clutch is engaged. In clutches of this kind, adhesive contact is established between the friction linings and the associated mating friction faces in the engaged state and this adhesive contact is not completely eliminated even with the clutch disengaged. The residual torque which continues to be transmitted has the effect of making gear changes in the output-side gearbox more difficult. In order to eliminate this disadvantage, the clutch-disc friction linings interacting with the flywheel are provided with approximately radial grooves while the friction linings interacting with the pressure plate do not bear any grooves, and are, especially, smooth. <IMAGE>
