PURPOSE:To execute easily and quickly filing work, to handle easily a received recording original, and to realize labor saving by providing a means for storing plural each different standard recording lengths which have been set in advance, and a telegraphic message length detecting means, etc. CONSTITUTION:In a facsimile equipment for obtaining a received recording original by cutting a roll-shaped recording sheet in accordance with the length of a received telegraphic message, an operator, first of all, stored plural each different standard recording lengths as initializing data in a RAM 73 of a control part 7. Subsequently, when an incoming is generated, a CPU 71 of the control part 7 receives a telegraphic message by controlling a transmitting/receiving part 1, and starts a recording scan of the received telegraphic message for a roll-shaped recording paper by driving a recording part 5. In this state, the standard recording length in the RAM 73 and a count value of the telegraphic message length are compared through a counter 77, and the roll-shaped recording paper is cut by the standard recording length corresponding to a result of the comparison, not by the telegraphic message length. In this way, the length of the received recording original can be standardized, filing work is executed easily and quickly, the received recording original is handled easily, and the labor saving can be realized.
