PURPOSE:To obtain easily a thin color liquid crystal display device which has a low power consumption and has a wide angle of field, by laminating a coloring matter layer and a protective film successively on one surface of a polarizing film and arranging color patterns of red, green, blue, etc. to form this coloring matter layer. CONSTITUTION:A polarizing film 1 is provided with protective films 2 and 2'. and they are adhered to the polarizing film 1 by an adhesive 3, and a coloring matter layer 4 is formed on the protective film 2. The coloring matter layer 4 is formed with red, blue, and green rectangular color patterns 41, 42, and 43 so that red color patterns 41, blue color patterns 42, or green color patterns 43 are arranged in the longitudinal direction and red color patterns 41, blue color patterns 42, and green color patterns 43 appear alternately repeatedly in the transverse direction and repeat pattern units each of which consists of red, blue, and green color patterns 41, 42, and 43 are shifted slightly from one another in the longitudinal direction. |
