PURPOSE:To obtain a flat exposure pattern having a small radial direction size by curving a part of the edge parts opposing in the tube-axial direction of a slit of a shading sleeve from the tube-axial direction to the luminous surface. CONSTITUTION:A part of the edge parts opposing to the tube-axial direction of a slit 11A of a shading sleeve 11 is curved from the tube-axial direction to the side of a mercury lamp 1. The curved parts 12 are contacted with the surface of the mercury lamp 11 while the interval between both curved parts forms a real light source when exposing in the tube-axial direction. Further, the same effect as a tight type can be obtained while obtaining a spot 13 whose center is moved in the panel center direction and the interval (b) between both curved parts as against the slit width (a) is defined to be (b)<(a) so as to be able to obtain a synthetic exposure pattern 14 where the long span of the oval spot 13 is shorter and flatter than the case where the slit having a width of (b) is used as it is.
