PURPOSE:To prevent the dripping of ink or the mixing of air bubbles at the time of the replacement of an ink cartridge, by connecting a needle having a needle hole opened to the side surface thereof to a pipe and providing a plug for opening and closing the opening of the needle hole on the same axis as the needle and energizing the plug to the direction closing the needle hole. CONSTITUTION:One end of an ink supply port 16 connected to a cartridge 1 is constituted of a needle 14 equipped with a needle hole 14a opened to the side surface thereof and a rubber plug 4 is provided to a slide ring 3 made movable by a compression spring 15 to seal the opening of the needle hole 14a of the needle 14. When an ink cartridge 1 is inserted, the compression spring 15 is compressed by the ink cartridge 1 and the slide ring 3 fixed by a stopper 17 moves along with the ink cartridge 1 and the needle 14 breaks through the rubber plug 4 and is further inserted through the seal rubber 18 of an ink package 16 to enable the supply of ink. When the ink cartridge is detached, the slide ring 3 moves to the position of the stopper 17 by a spring force and the needle hole 14a of the needle 14 is sealed by the rubber plug 4 and the mixing of air bubbles in the needle 14 or the dripping of the ink from the needle 14 is prevented. |
