PURPOSE:To obtain a portable printer capable of printing an arbitrary sentence on the desired place of paper having an arbitrary shape, by arranging a printing means to the opening part provided to one side surface of the printer. CONSTITUTION:In a portable printer, a printing means is arranged to the opening part provided to one side surface of the printer and has no paper feed mechanism. After the sentence (an address and a name etc.) inputted from a keyboard was confirmed at a display part 2, when a printing part 3 is pushed down to a printing place, a thermal head 5 is operated and an arbitrary sentence can be printed n a desired place. The keyboard 1 has characters arranged in the order of the KANA syllabary and can easily input a sentence by KANA/ KANJI conversion. Because a memory is backed up, the sentence does no disappear even if a switch is opened and the stored sentence can be easily called out. The printing part is constituted of the thermal head 5 and a thermal transfer ink ribbon 4 and, when the outer frame 6 of the printing part is pushed down to a printing place, the thermal head 5 falls and moves while presses the thermal transfer ink ribbon 4 to the printing place to perform printing. When the thermal head 5 moves to the terminal, said head rises to return the original position. |
