PURPOSE:To prevent water content in the environment from being invaded to an information recording section by dividing the recording film into the information recording part an a part exposed to the environment and forming a protection film onto the recording film. CONSTITUTION:The recording film 2 on a disk 1 is divided into the information recording part and the part exposed to the environment and the protection film 3 is formed on the film 2 including the divided part. The film 2 is formed by sputtering, e.g., a Tb-Fe onto the disk 1 and the film 2 is adhered up to the side face of the disk 1. The outer ridge including the side face is separated by using a diamond byte 6 go vie a notch up to the disk 1. Through the constitution above, since the information recording part of the film 2 is not affected by the water content in the environment, the reliability is ensured.
